Pettycoat starting

I boughht a canvas - flax + cotton. The technique is taken from the cottesimple web. It seems easy but my main problem is not enough experience and skillfullness and pinning dress on myself.

I cut the fabric in two rectangulars. Holding it as in the picture I pinned the hips. This was the easiest of all.

The back was not so funny at all. I had to make a line along the and one in the front middle.

But it didn't please me.

I repinned and repinned.. I have to save another day for this work.
When I tried to turn the basted seams it was winding in the front.
I don't like making patterns, I admit that I don't know nothing about them :-(
